Winter, in the zeitgeist of the Northern-ness,
please give us ease in the coolness of your attitude.
We love the balance of the ice and rain,
we love the knowledge of our Earth's total care.
This short day, the Solstice renewal, comforts
the longer days that will signal the coming Summer,
as we tilt on the axis and spin the Sun's year.
But for now we cherish the wet and the water.
Like Black Friday taking us out of the red for the year,
you fill our reservoirs with liquid clean,
so our 98% can be fulfilled and our land green.
We bathe in the nectar of the Solar System's
clouded moisture, rich with minerals and oxygen.
Thank you, Winter, for three months of mild rest
in the seasonal kisses of our sometimes cold home.
