equity

 

To be in the U.S.A., in the World, et al, as we are, may focus on concern and being charitable about the rights of ourselves and those around us. I find the emphasizing of my multiplicity helps me keep from being in one (uncomfortable) category.  I say “multi-” and “many-” and “pan-” and “poly-”, like “polypartisan”, a lot. 

The United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights | United Nations has been working on Universal Human Rights, and those are good things on which to be aware and add. Water accessibility and cleanliness We Believe We Can End The Water Crisis In Our Lifetime | charity: water, animal welfare Animal Legal Defense Fund - The Legal Voice for All Animals (aldf.org), preserving lands The Nature Conservancy - The Nature Conservancy, and cleaning the environment are also good things.  Think of more good things that y/our body/mind can advance. 

A lot of people right now are concerned about past misdeeds and insufficiencies that must be corrected, but we must look with an eye to a healthy future. Where there has been privilege, we must generously lift up each other, within the group, into the group, in other groups, even as we feel, and are aware of, the inconsistencies and hardships that have come with those privileges. Equity, like real estate, moving up and down in value, situation dependent, is more suitable than some kind of equality where no one gets the whole, part, or none, that they want...but an “equal” piece in some unreasonable value of measurement. 

 I don't really believe in equal. I believe in getting what I want, the peace that I want. I don't mind changing my mind about what I want, if that becomes necessary. Or bargaining.

I hope you are getting what you want and feeling privileged in the process. As we all should try for.

It's okay that people, and animals, and plants, and minerals want increased rights and privilege. We live in a richly resourced World, we should enjoy it and use it carefully and responsibly.

We should graciously respect the past for the current life we live and enjoy.  Our past has made us all much more diverse than is observable on a dna test.  Our personalities are made by this path we lead together.
